Laura Linney's portrayal as vulnerable, yet strong characters has helped make her one of today's greatest American actors. As a teenager, she spent her summers in the home of her father her interest grew for the stage. Following her studies in Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. After graduating from Brown University, she began her Broadway debut shortly thereafter. Within two years of the time, her debut film came out and the following year, her debut on television. She has appeared in innumerable films, and television and stage shows since. She's been nominated for three Oscar Awards, five Tony Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her career. In spite of the array of awards the theatre is still her primary passion and she has continued to appear both on screen and on stage.
