When I had a baby with me, and other babies within the cradle was working 12 hour shifts grinding floors and cutting off wallpaper. Ha! The home was beginning to look good, but there was a lot that needed to be left. It would take money, effort, and my favorite shopping to complete the interior of this house. To keep in my budget, I took my boys with me to look for gems hidden in estate sales. Every week, we spent the week of Thursday through Saturday at garage sales and estate sales buying brand new furniture. In the end, I painted and sanded the driveway throughout the week. My passion for furniture restoration began with a look like this. I continued to work on furniture, even after having completed the renovation of our home. In the market in town, I rented a small space, and also sold pieces. In the end, I accumulated more items that I could decide what to do with and outgrew the space. Over 1000 people visited my home over the course of a weekend, to shop for all the things on the ground. That's how my company Growing Days was born. The business wasn't just expanding, but so was my sweet family too. I was trying to find that perfect balance between what it took to start a new business and be a mommy too. Growing Days just fit. The year was 2013, and my lovely daughter Nora was born. She is our fourth child. I was thrilled with where my company was going, but I wanted some time off. I decided to put off doing work on my furniture for a while and be at home with the kids. That was precisely the thing I needed. After a few months that my phone began to be ringing. I was getting calls from people seeking help for the interior decoration and remodeling. It was mostly those who came to my open house for furniture. After that, I gradually took on new clients at my own speed. Soon I had multiple customers and was operating a business of home renovations. When you first told me about your home remodeling business, I laughed. In fact, I laugh slightly when I recall it.
