Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at an Olympic contest. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci when she was just six years old. She first competed at the championships for juniors from Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she won. At her first international event in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. In 1975, she won four golds and one silver at her first senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the first woman to ever successfully complete a backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Carol Wayne's journey in the world of entertainment started as a teenager. Together with her sister Nina Wayne, she joined traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business during her teenage years. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. The shows were the ice skating of which was accompanied by theatrical music.
